THE UNSEEN created a community that spotlighted the work that is deemed to be ‘unsuitable’. We found that censorship was being applied inequitably, protecting those with large audiences but enforcing shadow bans, content removals, promo bans and full account removals on smaller creators.
From Racism to Ableism to Misogyny our 350+ accounts of unfair censorship are ALL on our website, showcasing the true breadth of the issue. In art's most revered space - the gallery - we showcased the name of all our entrants and all their censored images. Combined with an AR experience from Media.Monks we subverted control of who we see and put power back in the community’s hands.
